¿Por qué el Banco de la República utiliza la tasa de interés como instrumento de política?

Abstract

Los autores en este capítulo explican por que la elección de la tasa de interés se usa como principal herramienta de política monetaria por parte del Banco de la República en Colombia, en el marco de su estrategia de inflación objetivo. Se analiza su efectividad, el impacto en la economía y la importancia de la credibilidad institucional para lograr estabilidad de precios y crecimiento sostenible. Así mismo, la política fiscal y otras políticas gubernamentales también juegan un rol complementario, y su coordinación es clave para garantizar el éxito de las medidas monetarias.
