Abstract

El capítulo aborda el impacto y las implicaciones del financiamiento directo del gobierno por parte de los bancos centrales, resaltando su relación histórica con la inflación y la importancia de mantener la independencia de las autoridades monetarias para garantizar la estabilidad macroeconómica. Para los autores, es esencial proteger la independencia del banco central frente a presiones gubernamentales, especialmente en contextos de alta demanda de financiamiento, como en la pospandemia. Esto asegura que las decisiones monetarias se mantengan enfocadas en la estabilidad económica a largo plazo.
