Abstract

Este documento tiene como objetivo identificar los impactos de la actividad minero-energética en el desarrollo productivo subnacional de Perú. Así, utilizando información de los Censos de Población y Vivienda (1993 y 2007) y Censos Agropecuarios (1994 y 2012) se estima el impacto de estas actividades sobre la diversificación productiva, la composición productiva y el desarrollo tecnológico. Para ello se utilizan técnicas de evaluación de impacto no experimentales. Los resultados indican que la actividad minero-energética genera un aumento de la diversificación productiva, la cual favorece el desarrollo de sectores no tradicionales de las zonas rurales. El efecto en la composición productiva es, naturalmente, heterogéneo según sector. Finalmente, se evidencia que el desarrollo tecnológico en el sector agrario se ve perjudicado por la presencia de actividades mineroenergéticas.
