Determinantes de la realización de estudios universitarios en España

Abstract

El objetivo de esta comunicación es analizar los determinantes de la probabilidad de alcanzar estudios universitarios entre los jóvenes españoles. Con los microdatos anonimizados del Censo de Población y Viviendas de 2011 se selecciona una muestra de personas menores de 28 años que no realizan ningún tipo de formación y se utilizan modelos probit y probit ordenados para captar el efecto de diferentes variables socioeconómicas, de entorno y culturales en la realización de estudios universitarios según el sexo del individuo. El trabajo se centra especialmente en la influencia potencial del nivel de estudios de los progenitores, de su situación profesional y del tipo de municipio en el que residen.
