Unternehmensdynamik und alternde Bevölkerung

Abstract

Das Wachstum einer Volkswirtschaft und die Wohlfahrt einer Gesellschaft hängen wesentlich davon ab, dass ständig neue Unternehmen in die Märkte eintreten und mit neuen Ideen und Produkten für Wettbewerb sorgen. Sehr häufig werden sie von jungen Menschen gegründet. Im Zusammenhang mit einer alternden Bevölkerung werden daher vielfach abnehmende Impulse für das Gründungsgeschehen befürchtet und damit die negativen Effekte der Alterung betont. Dies verstellt allerdings den Blick auf mögliche positive Effekte der Alterung. Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist es deshalb, ein möglichst umfassendes Bild über die grundlegenden Wirkungsmechanismen zwischen alternder Bevölkerung und Gründungsgeschehen zu vermitteln. Im Zentrum steht dabei eine fundierte empirische Analyse, die es erlaubt, die ökonomische Relevanz der entsprechenden Wirkungskanäle analytisch zu erfassen. Darauf aufbauend werden nationale und internationale Erfahrungen im Umgang mit dem Thema alternde Bevölkerung und Gründungen eruiert.
