Abstract

Zum vierten Mal seit 2004 misst der Bildungsmonitor, in welchem Maße die Bildungssysteme in den einzelnen Bundesländern einen Beitrag zur Förderung des wirtschaftlichen Wachstums leisten können. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass alle Bundesländer im Durchschnitt von fünf inputorientierten und acht outputorientierten Handlungsfeldern, die für die Bildungspolitik von Interesse sind, günstigere Bedingungen im Bildungswesen aufweisen als drei Jahre zuvor. Dennoch besteht gerade bei der Entkoppelung des Zusammenhangs zwischen sozialer Herkunft und Bildungserfolg sowie bei der Förderung des akademischen Nachwuchses im Bereich Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik (MINT) weiterhin erheblicher Verbesserungsbedarf. Mittels einer Clusteranalyse werden Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten der Bundesländer aufgedeckt. Dabei bilden Bayern und Baden-Württemberg, Sachsen und Thüringen, Mecklenburg- Vorpommern und Sachsen-Anhalt sowie Hamburg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz und das Saarland jeweils eine homogene Gruppe mit einem relativ einheitlichen Stärken-Schwächen-Profil in den betrachteten 13 Handlungsfeldern. Die übrigen vier Bundesländer können hingegen keiner dieser Gruppen zugeteilt werden.
