Fortbildungsabsolventen: Arbeitsmarktergebnisse und Karriereperspektiven

Abstract

Die vorliegende Analyse betrachtet die Arbeitsmarkt- und Karriereperspektiven von Fortbildungsabsolventen in Deutschland. Auf Grundlage von Individualund Unternehmensdaten wird untersucht, wie sich die Situation von Absolventen einer beruflichen Aufstiegsfortbildung - zum Beispiel zum Meister oder Techniker - im Vergleich zu der von Hochschulabsolventen darstellt. Während in der öffentlichen Debatte ein Studium unter Karrieregesichtspunkten als weitgehend alternativlos angesehen wird, zeigt ein Blick auf die Daten ein anderes Bild: Fortbildungsabsolventen brauchen den Vergleich mit Akademikern nicht zu scheuen, denn sie haben ein geringeres Arbeitslosigkeitsrisiko, übernehmen häufiger Führungsverantwortung und ihr Einkommen liegt in vielen Fällen gleichauf mit dem von Hochschulabsolventen oder sogar darüber. Zudem bietet eine Aufstiegsfortbildung auch für Schulabgänger ohne Abitur eine gute Karriereperspektive. Unternehmen schätzen Fortbildungsabsolventen als versierte Teamplayer mit fundierter Praxiserfahrung und setzen sie in verantwortungsvollen Tätigkeiten gezielt ein.
