Lohnstrukturen im Handwerk

Abstract

Ein Vergleich der Durchschnittsverdienste zeigt, dass Beschäftigte im Handwerk etwa 20 Prozent weniger verdienen als Beschäftigte in anderen Sektoren. Anhand detaillierter statistischer Analysen untersucht diese Studie die Gründe für diese Lohndifferenz. Es zeigt sich, dass sich die Differenz zur Hälfte durch die Unterschiede in der Qualifikationsstruktur erklären lässt. Hinzu kommt, dass die untersten Einkommen zwar in einigen Handwerksbranchen durch branchenspezifische Mindestlöhne abgesichert sind, die Tarifbindung aber mit nur knapp 30 % deutlich niedriger ist als in der Gesamtwirtschaft.
