Geschäftsberichte börsennotierter Unternehmen: Kritische Betrachtung der Darstellung sozialer Nachhaltigkeit

Abstract

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird untersucht, ob und wie ausführlich in der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung börsennotierter Elektroautomobilhersteller auf soziale Nachhaltigkeit eingegangen wird. Anhand eines selbst entwickelten Kriterienkatalogs, welcher sich an den Kernelementen des Nationalen Aktionsplans Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte orientiert und internationale Berichtsstandards einbindet, wird untersucht, inwiefern die Thematik der menschenrechtlichen Sorgfaltspflicht berücksichtigt wird. Im Fokus der Master-Thesis stehen die Angaben, die mit dem menschenrechtlich kritisch zu betrachtendem Abbau des Rohstoffs Kobalt einhergehen, welcher für die Herstellung von Batterien für Elektroautos benötigt wird. Die Analyse ergibt, dass zwar grundsätzlich in der Mehrheit der Berichte Elemente menschenrechtlicher Sorgfaltspflicht vorzufinden sind, diese allerdings häufig nicht ausreichend ausgeführt und zahlenmäßig belegt werden. Weiterhin wird die nicht vorhandene Prüfungspflicht der Nachhaltigkeitsberichte als Problem erkannt.
