Systemanbieter im Handwerk: Chancen und Risiken für das Innovationspotenzial von KMU am Beispiel des Metallbaus

Abstract

Aus einem Stück Eisen ein Geländer, eine Treppe oder ein Fenster zu formen - dieses Bild zeigte über Jahrhunderte das Selbstverständnis handwerklicher Tätigkeit in der Metallbearbeitung. Digitalisierung, computergestützte Fertigung und modulare Konstruktionen haben das Berufsbild und die Fertigung im Metallbau in den letzten Jahrzehnten tiefgreifend verändert. Auch die Marktstruktur ist im stetigen Wandel. Großunternehmen der Zuliefererindustrie haben als Systemanbieter einen immer stärkeren Einfluss auf die betriebliche Fertigung und damit das Innovationspotenzial von KMU entwickelt. Anhand der SWOT-Analyse und basierend auf einer Umfrage unter mittelständischen Metallbaubetrieben untersucht dieser Beitrag die Auswirkungen des Systemvertriebs auf unternehmerische Prozesse und dessen Chancen und Risiken für die Stellung von Metallbaubetrieben im europäischen Wettbewerb. Zudem werden die Anreize eruiert, mit denen von extern und intern die Innovations- und Entwicklungsbereitschaft von KMU gestärkt werden könnte. Dazu analysiert dieser Beitrag Best-Practice-Strategien in Bezug auf Institutionen, Venture Capital, Expertise, Netzwerke und Kooperationen.
