Abstract

Der Konjunkturreport Einzelhandel stellt einmal pro Quartal wesentliche Konjunkturinformationen für den Einzelhandel bzw. Handel insgesamt zusammen. Eine laufende Konjunkturbeobachtung und -berichterstattung ist von hoher Relevanz, um den Handelsbetrieben sowie der interessierten Öffentlichkeit aktuelle Daten und Analysen liefern zu können. Der aktuelle Bericht zeigt, dass sich vor dem Hintergrund einer allmählich beginnenden gesamtwirtschaftlichen Stabilisierung auch die Stimmungsindikatoren der Einzelhandelsunternehmen langsam verbessern. Während die Einschätzungen zur aktuellen Lage das Bild im Jänner zuletzt zwar wieder leicht trübten, verliefen die unternehmerischen Erwartungen in den letzten Monaten anhaltend positiv. Der Geschäftsgang im Einzelhandel fiel zu Jahresende hingegen erneut verhalten aus, sodass im Gesamtjahr real ein Umsatzrückgang von 3,4% verzeichnet wurde. Im aktuellen Jahr dürfte die Entwicklung besser ausfallen. Im Zuge des erwarteten Anstiegs des real verfügbaren Haushaltseinkommens wird wieder mit einer stärkeren Konsumnachfrage der privaten Haushalte gerechnet. Darauf deuten auch die in die Zukunft gerichteten Konsument:innenumfragen hin.
