Abstract

Der Konjunkturreport Einzelhandel stellt einmal pro Quartal wesentliche Konjunkturinformationen für den Einzelhandel bzw. Handel insgesamt zusammen. Eine laufende Konjunkturbeobachtung und -berichterstattung ist von hoher Relevanz, um den Handelsbetrieben sowie der interessierten Öffentlichkeit aktuelle Daten und Analysen liefern zu können. Der aktuelle Bericht zeigt, dass die Konjunkturschwäche im Einzelhandel anhält. Der Geschäftsgang fiel im Juli und August erneut gedämpft aus. Besonders im Nichtnahrungsmittelbereich war die Umsatzentwicklung zuletzt schwach. Auch Stimmungsindikatoren der Einzelhandelsunternehmen haben sich in den letzten Monaten weiter verschlechtert. Eine Vorauswertung für den Monat Oktober zeigt jedoch eine Stabilisierung auf niedrigem Niveau an. Die pessimistischen Erwartungen der Konsument:innen hinsichtlich der allgemeinen wirtschaftlichen Lage belasten das Konsument:innenvertrauen und in weiterer Folge die private Konsumnachfrage, welche erst 2024, gestützt durch steigende reale Einkommen, wieder kräftiger steigen sollte.
