Abstract

Das Eich- und Vermessungswesen stellt die grundlegende messtechnische Infrastruktur und zuverlässige Geoinformationen bereit. Es erbringt komplexe Leistungen, die für das Funktionieren einer Volkswirtschaft unerlässlich sind und die von der Öffentlichkeit umso weniger wahrgenommen werden, je zuverlässiger sie erbracht werden und je reibungsloser die von ihnen unterstützten Prozesse ablaufen. Der vorliegende Bericht aktualisiert die gleichnamige Studie aus dem Jahr 2021 und untersucht die Funktionen und Aufgaben sowie den gesellschaftlichen Mehrwert (Public Value) der Leistungen des Eich- und Vermessungswesens. Im Zentrum steht dabei die institutionalisierte Vertrauensbildung als Grundlage für die Koordination zahlreicher wirtschaftlicher Aktivitäten.
