Abstract

Der Handel stellt mit seinen Bereichen Einzelhandel, Großhandel und Kfz-Handel einen bedeutenden Wirtschaftssektor sowohl in Hinblick auf die heimische Wertschöpfung als auch auf die Beschäftigung dar. Der Verlauf ist wesentlich von der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Dynamik geprägt, wobei innerhalb des Sektors die Entwicklungen oftmals unterschiedlich verlaufen, da die einzelnen Branchen ein heterogenes Spektrum an Waren und Dienstleistungen anbieten. Eine laufende Konjunkturbeobachtung und -berichterstattung ist von hoher Relevanz, um den Handelsbetrieben sowie der interessierten Öffentlichkeit aktuelle Daten und Befunde liefern zu können. Der Konjunkturreport Einzelhandel setzt sich daher zum Ziel, einmal pro Quartal alle für den Einzelhandel bzw. Handel insgesamt wesentlichen Konjunkturinformationen zusammenzustellen und zu analysieren.
