Die wirtschaftliche Dynamik in der "östlichen Ostregion". Regionalwirtschaft und verkehrsrelevante Aspekte

Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie stellt eine regionalwirtschaftliche Analyse der "östlichen Ostregion" dar, welche im Wesentlichen Wien mit seinen (erweiterten) Umlandbezirken entspricht. Im Vergleich zu dieser Analyseregion steht eine Kernregion von Bezirken, die von einer sechsten Donauquerung im Bereich Lobau am stärksten profitieren könnte: die transdanubischen Bezirke in Wien und Gänserndorf (sowie die Region Richtung Slowakei und Tschechien), zuzüglich Bruck an der Leitha im Süden der Donau. Der Bericht besteht aus einer Reihe von Aspekten, die diese Fragestellung beleuchten können. Das sich daraus ergebende Bild ist nicht klar umrissen: Trotz (zunehmend) problematischer Verkehrssituation zeigt sich die Region dynamisch – jedoch gibt es durchaus Hinweise, dass sie wohl in der Ausschöpfung ihres Potentials durch bessere Erreichbarkeit unterstützt werden könnte. Um das volle Potential an Agglomerationsvorteilen lukrieren zu können, ist jedenfalls eine enge bundesländerübergreifende Kooperation zwischen Wien und Niederösterreich notwendig.
