Abstract

The construction outlook for the 19 Euroconstruct countries is less favourable than expected last year. For 2012, declines in the housing, non-residential and civil engineering sectors are expected in the Euroconstruct area – overall construction output is predicted to decline by 2.1 percent. While residential construction will recover until 2014, growth will pick up only in 2014 in the non-residential and civil engineering sector. Especially the latter one experiences a clear downward trend due to public consolidation efforts. The Euroconstruct Summary Report provides a macroeconomic analysis and an overview of the European construction industry by sectors (housing, non-residential construction and civil engineering, new and renovation, respectively) up to 2014. The Summary Report additionally includes selected speeches and presentations of the 73rd Euroconstruct Conference held in London in June 2012.
