Zur Neugestaltung der Wohnungspolitik in Österreich

Abstract

Die Wohnungspolitik steht in den neunziger Jahren vor der Notwendigkeit von Umstrukturierungen. Geänderte Rahmenbedingungen und wachsende Finanzierungsprobleme der öffentlichen Hand legen eine Umorientierung der Wohnungspolitik und einen deutlichen Abbau der Subventionierung in den meisten europäischen Ländern nahe. Auch in Österreich war eine Neugestaltung erforderlich; sie wurde Ende der achtziger Jahre und Anfang der neunziger Jahre zum Teil durch die "Verländerung" vollzogen. Infolge der Dynamik des gesamtwirtschaftlichen Prozesses, die in jüngster Zeit durch die Vollendung des EG-Binnenmarktes und die rasche Öffnung Osteuropas ausgelöst wurde, erhält die Wohnungswirtschaft neue Schwerpunkte und steht wieder im Mittelpunkt der öffentlichen Diskussion.
