Österreich steckt im dritten Rezessionsjahr. Prognose für 2025 und 2026

Abstract

Der bereits seit Anfang 2023 beobachtete Rückgang der Industrieproduktion im Euro-Raum strahlt weiterhin auf Österreich aus. Umfragen unter Industrieunternehmen lassen bislang noch keine Trendwende erkennen. Zudem belastet die angekündigte Zollerhöhung der USA auf Exportgüter der EU die Stimmung. Die Bau- und die Konsumnachfrage legen hingegen tendenziell zu. Die Inflationsrate erhöhte sich Anfang 2025 deutlich, wird jedoch im weiteren Jahresverlauf wieder sinken. Der Arbeitsmarkt erweist sich angesichts der Dauer und Schwere der Rezession als relativ robust, wenngleich die Arbeitslosigkeit auch 2025 steigen wird. Das WIFO prognostiziert für 2025 einen BIP-Rückgang von 0,3%. 2026 wird die österreichische Wirtschaft wieder Fahrt aufnehmen (+1,2%).
