Abstract

Im IV. Quartal 2008 schrumpfte das saison- und arbeitstägig bereinigte Bruttoinlandsprodukt in Österreich gegenüber dem Vorquartal um 0,4% und entsprach damit dem Niveau des Vorjahres. Die Wertschöpfung entwickelte sich dabei im Jahr 2008 insgesamt – aufgrund der ausgezeichneten Konjunkturlage im 1. Halbjahr – in den Industriebundesländern immer noch überdurchschnittlich. Gegen Jahresende glichen sich diese Unterschiede allerdings aus. Weil der Einbruch der Weltwirtschaft vor allem die Sachgüterproduktion betrifft, sind die exportintensiven Industriebundesländer von der gegenwärtigen Rezession stärker betroffen als die weniger exportintensiven Bundesländer.
