Abstract

This study is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is a brief survey of the financial facilities for rural development in the SEACEN countries. The second chapter looks into the financing strategies employed in rural development in the region and probe into the reasons behind the success and failures of these financial strategies. The third chapter highlights the major findings and concludes with suggestions for future guidance. This study mostly covers the period 1980-90, though updated for years when data are available.
