Abstract

The present study is devoted to the methodological aspects of The Theory of Patronized Goods, to the modification of two liberal principles of the Austrian school, incorporated into the mainstream of the economic theory of "the methodological subjectivism" and "the methodological individualism”, as well as the standard axiom of "the homogeneity of economic agents." The paper discusses some modifications to these prerequisites and their various combinations, forming and comprising the basis of a number of theories that justify and substantiate the state activity. The analysis of the basic provisions of the theory of public and meritory goods, the concept of libertarian paternalism, allowed the author to suggest and to assume that, in terms of methodology, these theoretical constructs are the private cases of The Theory of Patronized Goods, the foundation of which are: "the methodological subjectivism, "the methodological relativism" and "the principle of heterogeneity ". In The Theory of Patronized Goods they are interpreted in the following way: as the assumption that each person, to the extent of his or her understanding, relying on the own values, acts in the given circumstances subjectively optimally; in the form of the principle of complementarity of the utilities, in accordance with which an availability of the group interest is allowed, along the individual interests of the members of the group; in a form of the existence of two branches of public interest, market and political , which are irreducible to each other.
