Abstract

Las actividades de la Red de Microcrédito, Género y Pobreza se iniciaron en el año 2000, gracias a la iniciativa del Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES) y con el auspicio de la Fundación Ford. Esta iniciativa busca generar un espacio de análisis, diálogo y debate sobre las posibilidades del microcrédito y de las microfinanzas en general, como instrumento para apoyar a sectores sociales vulnerables en sus esfuerzos por mejorar sus niveles de vida y aumentar sus posibilidades de salir de la pobreza.
