Abstract

La lucha por los derechos de la infancia y la adolescencia en el mundo ha dado pasos muy significativos. Hoy en día, tanto el Estado como la sociedad civil muestran acuerdos, leyes, normas y directivas orientados a cumplir el compromiso de respetar los derechos de niñas y niños. Sin embargo, las cifras sobre la vulnerabilidad de la infancia de los países menos desarrollados siguen siendo alarmantes. El Manual global brinda, de manera sencilla, las herramientas metodológicas para construir y analizar indicadores de salud, educación y nutrición infantil. Con el propósito de ilustrar los procedimientos de cálculo, se presenta como referencia ejemplos concretos de indicadores socioeconómicos sobre la infancia de países de África, Asia y Latinoamérica.
