¿Los niños ... primero? Niveles de vida y gasto público orientado a la infancia en el Perú: 2004-2005

Abstract

El presente libro continúa el enfoque del primer y del segundo volumen de ¿Los niños…primero?, en el sentido de analizar en qué medida el gasto social focalizado explica la evolución de los indicadores socioeconómicos en salud, educación, alimentación y justicia en niños y niñas. Sin embargo, se distingue, fundamentalmente, por dos razones. En primer lugar, se ha construido una fotografía comparada entre los niños del Perú con los niños de Latinoamérica. En segundo lugar, el país ingresa a una etapa de cambio de gobierno y se necesita de medidas costo-efectivas que impliquen un cambio permanente en la educación, la salud, la alimentación y la justicia de las niñas y los niños. Por ello, el último capítulo constituye un esfuerzo por plantear recomendaciones viables.
