Buscando el bienestar de los pobres: ¿cuán lejos estamos?

Abstract

El propósito del presente trabajo es entender el problema del bienestar, para lo cual se rescata al actor principal del escenario de las políticas sociales: los pobres. Por ello, además de medir el componente objetivo, se busca conocer la dimensión subjetiva de la pobreza. Asimismo, el lector se encontrará con las tres clásicas intervenciones diseñadas intencionalmente a favor de los pobres: los programas alimentarios, las microfinanzas y los programas educativos. Finalmente se aborda la particularidad de dos grupos vulnerables tradicionalmente excluidos: las madres adolescentes y las poblaciones indígenas.
