Abstract

The subject of this study is the application of the gamification concept in project management software systems. The specific gamification requirements have been studied and implemented in a system that allows its deployment in business organizations using software project management systems. The purpose of the study is to develop a model of a gamification software system, which allows for personalization, building of the gamification design and to propose an approach for its implementation in project management software systems. Several research tasks are solved for achieving the purpose of the dissertation: 1. The concept of gamification, its purpose and basic principles, as well as the approaches to the development of the gamification design have been studied. 2. The existing gamification software solutions have been analyzed and the necessity of developing a model of a gamification software system has been proven. 3. A conceptual model of a gamification system, which can be adapted to a project management software system, has been developed. 4. The architecture of the gamification system is proposed. 5. An approach for implementation and integration of the gamification system with a project management software system in a specific business organization is presented. 6. A tool for measuring user experience and satisfaction with the application of the adapted gamification system is proposed. The following scientific and applicable contributions have been achieved on the basis of the carried out research and the application of a number of approaches, methods and analyzes: 1. The need to develop a gamification software system for project management software has been proven. 2. A system of criteria for evaluation of gamification software systems has been defined, which has been applied to analyze their main functionalities and disadvantages. 3. A model of a gamification system, applicable to project management software systems, has been developed and a system architecture based on MSA has been proposed. 4. An approach for implementation of the gamification software system to specific project management software has been proposed. 5. A tool for measuring the degree of satisfaction and user experience from the application of the adapted gamification system has been developed.
