Abstract

Information science research has the potential to improve current methods of energy generation and industrial processes, as proven by contributions to this book. These include the presentation of neural networks applications in advanced oxidative processes. Multivariate statistics are applied to the quality control of fuels viscosity and also the use of such multivariate modelling in both the oil and gas industries. Finally, a chapter shows how multivariate analysis can be used to understand the advanced oxidation process. One chapter considers the application of 2K experimental design and response surface methodology to optimize molar mass reduction methods, and another covers the influential parameters on database performance. There is also a chapter on use of the Taguchi method in environmental engineering.
