Abstract

En octubre de 1963, hace poco más de 40 años, la Cámara Argentina de Comercio creó la Fundación Cámara Argentina de Comercio. Meses después - con el apoyo ampliado de la Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA), la Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires y la Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA) - cambió su nombre por el de Fundación FIEL. Con el Objeto de recordar la creación de FIEL, se desarrollo un ciclo de cuatro Conferencias, que tuvieron lugar en Buenos Aires entre Abril y Octubre de 2003. Las reuniones tuvieron por objeto no sólo celebrar los 40 años de la Fundación y recordar a muchos de quienes contribuyeron al prestigio de FIEL, sino también tratar de aportar ideas para salir de la profunda crisis que se precipitó desde fines de los años '90. El ciclo lleva por título unificador Argentina: crisis, instituciones y crecimiento, y refleja esencialmente la búsqueda de un diagnóstico de los errores y aciertos en materia de políticas públicas, que vaya más allá de una mirada de corto plazo.
