Las organizaciones de la población afrodescendiente en el Perú: discursos de identidad y demandas de reconocimiento

Abstract

La presente publicación es el producto de un estudio sobre el desarrollo de las organizaciones afroperuanas surgidas en los últimos años, así como los avances y las limitaciones que ha enfrentado su participación en diversos espacios de representación social y política. Está basado en el análisis de documentos y publicaciones de las organizaciones afroperuanas, así como en la revisión bibliográfica de los aportes realizados desde las ciencias sociales y la historia. Pero principalmente es el resultado del recojo de información mediante entrevistas a representantes y líderes de 21 organizaciones afroperuanas, con el objeto de obtener datos de primera mano sobre su historia, sus objetivos institucionales, sus discursos identitarios y su participación en las iniciativas recientes del movimiento afroperuano. El estudio ha respondido al interés por conocer las dinámicas y los problemas que enfrentan estas organizaciones, con el fin de contribuir a la reflexión, la discusión y la generación de propuestas orientadas a fortalecer a la sociedad civil afroperuana en su búsqueda por alcanzar el reconocimiento y el pleno ejercicio de sus derechos ciudadanos.
