Abstract

El objetivo principal del primer estudio, “El rol de las percepciones y los conocimientos de las madres en el estado nutricional de sus niños”, de Alcázar, Marini y Walker, es analizar los factores determinantes de la desnutrición infantil (talla para la edad de los niños menores de 2 años), con énfasis en el rol del conocimiento de las madres sobre nutrición, crecimiento y desarrollo. En el segundo estudio, “Sobre los determinantes étnico-culturales de la inequidad en salud materno-infantil en el Perú”, Martín Valdivia pone énfasis en la etnicidad y las variables culturales, en función de su relación causal con los indicadores de acceso a la salud, estado de salud de los niños y embarazo adolescente. Por último, en el tercer estudio, “Conductas de riesgo en adolescentes: un enfoque longitudinal”, Cueto, Saldarriaga y Muñoz investigan los factores determinantes del consumo de cigarrillos, alcohol y drogas entre adolescentes, así como de las relaciones sexuales sin protección, conductas que se podrían asociar a problemas de salud, baja productividad o reducción del bienestar personal a corto, mediano o largo plazo.
