Abstract

Esta obra intenta realizar una revisión histórica de las medidas de apoyo a la investigación concedidas en nuestro país durante el último siglo, ofreciendo a través de ellas la visión de las ciencias que ha ido existiendo en España.Las ciencias, así como las políticas de apoyo a la investigación científica y técnica, están decididamente marcadas por el contexto histórico. En el caso de nuestro país, tanto las diferentes formas de gobierno del último siglo como la guerra civil o la propia geografía política española, al formar parte de un continente asolado por dos guerras mundiales y revitalizado por la reconstrucción aliada posterior, influyen de forma decisiva en la promoción del estudio y en la evolución misma de las ciencias.Cien años de política científica en España viene a paliar las carencias existentes en el estudio historiográfico de las ciencias en España, cubriendo un amplio y convulso periodo y aportando las claves para comprender y valorar, a partir de los antecedentes históricos, la pujante situación actual de la investigación científica en nuestro país.
