Abstract

Los trabajos y reflexiones contenidos en esta obra tratan de analizar y valorar el significado del 11-S desde la perspectiva del sector filantrópico, a través de un estudio de los factores en su base y de sus consecuencias en el escenario de un mundo cada vez más globalizado en el ámbito de la economía, de la política y de la sociedad y la cultura. Un segundo objetivo de este libro es incentivar en el sector filantrópico la reflexión y el debate sobre el alcance y el significado de los cambios asociados al 11-S en torno a los conceptos de interés general, interés público y bien común, que se han aceptado y reconocido, casi exclusivamente, en el marco de los Estados-Nación. Y finalmente, esta obra quiere apuntar o esbozar nuevos mecanismos conceptuales y vías de actuación del sector filantrópico que respondan a la naturaleza global de los problemas sociales del mundo de hoy. Este libro, tanto por lo novedoso del tematratado como por el papel de sus autores, se presenta como una obra útil para incentivar el debate de las Fundaciones españolas sobre su futuro en este inicio del siglo XXI.
