Abstract

Iconografía Intelectual en el Virreinato de la Nueva Granada siglo XVIII es un estudio del grupo de investigación Construcción Social del Patrimonio Cultural-Colciencias, línea de Valoración del Patrimonio Cultural de la Facultad de Estudios del Patrimonio Cultural de la Universidad Externado de Colombia, que presenta, en cuatro capítulos, una serie de 31 lienzos perteneciente a la Orden de los Franciscanos Menores de Bogotá, la Escuela de Pensamiento Franciscana, entre los que se destacan teólogos, filósofos, comentadores y tratadistas, entre otros, así como iconografías que describen las prácticas que la sociedad intelectual del Virreinato de la Nueva Granada desarrollaba para obtener el grado académico de doctor, y disputas entre doctores de las distintas órdenes religiosas, pertenecientes a la catedral bogotana, Museo de Arte Colonial, Universidad del Rosario y colección privada. Este estudio contribuye al conocimiento de este ámbito desconocido y nada estudiado de la iconografía del siglo XVIII durante el Virreinato de la Nueva Granada.
