Mercado y orden urbano. Del caos a la teoría de la localización residencial

Abstract

Identificar el equilibrio cono un orden social es una operación que se aemeja a un "mito de origen", a partir del cual la sociedad de mercado puede tener una imagen de sí misma, según afirma Dupuy refiriéndose a la postura de Walras. En el caso de la ciudad, el mercado de localización se tornaría en el principal mecanismo de coordinación de las decisiones descentralizadas de una sociedad de mercado, y el equilibrio espacial que resulta del "encuentro" la "imagen de origen" de un cierto orden urbano. A partir del análisis de este cuerpo teórico, se propone una mirada sobre los principales resultados de un proceso de equilibrio espacial y una lectura alternativa del mercado de localización.
