Abstract

Esta obra es una novedad en la literatura económica colombiana porque es un análisis financiero de un problema que nos compete a todos los colombianos, el de las pensiones, llevado a cabo con altos estándares de calidad técnica y responsabilidad. El esfuerzo que han hecho Juan Mario Laserna y sus coautores del Banco de la República, del gobierno nacional y de entidades financieras multilaterales merece mucha atención no solamente de la comunidad académica, ya que es la primera serie de artículos sobre este tema que se publican desde una óptica esencialmente colombiana, y con aplicación a un problema de interés general en Colombia, sino que les debe interesar a los políticos, administradores públicos y a los ahorradores, porque plantea preguntas de fondo sobre la política por seguir con respecto a las inversiones de los fondos de pensiones y al impacto de dichas políticas sobre el ingreso y el bienestar futuro de las personas que están ahorrando para sostenerse durante su vejez.
