Abstract

Son varias las razones que justifican hoy una investigación sobre Donoso Cortés y en particular sobre su influencia en las doctrinas autoritarias de Carl Schmitt. Lo primero que debe decirse es que la importancia de Donoso ha sido ignorada en la filosofía política contemporánea, incluso en su propia patria, España. Con pocas excepciones, el nombre del pensador hispano apenas se menciona y solo en raros casos, generalmente en tesis universitarias, se profundiza acerca de sus posiciones doctrinarias. Esto en contraste con la resonancia que tuvieron sus tesis a mediados del siglo xix y hasta comienzos del siglo xx.
