Abstract

Presentación La Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) ha compilado los indicadores económicos, sociales y de comercio de los países de la región que se presentan en este documento, con el propósito de darlos a conocer en la tercera Conferencia Ministerial de la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC), que se celebrará en Seattle (Estados Unidos) del 30 de noviembre al 3 de diciembre de 1999. La CEPAL espera que esta información ofrezca un valioso marco de referencia para los debates que tendrán lugar con ocasión de la Conferencia Ministerial. La Comisión ha hecho un esfuerzo especial por abarcar el mayor número posible de países sobre los que se dispone de información actualizada.
