Abstract

PresentaciónEste documento fue preparado por el Centro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Demografía (CELADE); - División de Población de la CEPAL, en cumplimiento de la resolución 616(XXXI); de la CEPAL de 2006, en que se le solicita preparar la documentación sustantiva de la segunda Conferencia regional intergubernamental sobre envejecimiento (Brasilia, Brasil, 4 al 6 de diciembre de 2007);. Tiene por objeto presentar y analizar la información disponible en relación con el proceso de envejecimiento demográfico, la situación de la población adulta mayor y los avances alcanzados por los países en la aplicación de la Estrategia regional de implementación para América Latina y el Caribe del Plan de Acción Internacional de Madrid sobre el Envejecimiento.
