Guía para la elaboración de estudios de caudales ecológicos en proyectos de aprovechamiento

Abstract

Esta guía presenta un procedimiento para el estudio de caudales ecológicos, que permite alcanzar un conocimiento claro de su importancia en circunstancias específicas y dirige al evaluador al grupo de metodologías más adecuadas para su cálculo a fin de garantizar caudales mínimos en cantidad, calidad y régimen, que permitan conservar la biodiversidad. Los objetivos específicos son: proporcionar elementos que permitan generar una línea de base del estado físico ambiental del área de estudio y de influencia del proyecto; facilitar la predicción y evaluación del impacto potencial del proyecto de aprovechamiento de recursos hídricos que estaría ocasionando la alteración de caudales en el ecosistema; proveer criterios para seleccionar el método o los métodos más adecuados para calcular los caudales ecológicos; establecer criterios para la verificación de los caudales ecológicos respecto al manejo del embalse.
