Abstract

El Ministerio del Ambiente de Ecuador (MAE) firmó con CAF en enero de 2014 un memorando de entendimiento (MoU, por sus siglas en inglés) para el desarrollo de un concepto de implementación de un mecanismo sectorial de mitigación en el sector residuos del país, orientado a la reducción de las emisiones de GEI provenientes de los residuos sólidos domiciliarios (RSD) y asimilables, por medio de la captura y aprovechamiento del gas metano en los rellenos sanitarios y de otras medidas de mitigación de GEI. Esta publicación está basada en el entregable final de la consultoría para el desarrollo del Concepto de Implementación del Mecanismo Sectorial de Mitigación en el sector de residuos sólidos de Ecuador.
