Abstract

Colombia presenta actualmente oportunidades para reducir emisiones de GEI, a través de eficiencia energética en el sector industrial (la co-generación es una de las tecnologías relevantes) y por medio de generación de energía eléctrica renovable (ER) en el sistema energético nacional, aumentando el porcentaje de participación de estas fuentes de generación en la matriz eléctrica nacional. El MSM permitirá eliminar las barreras de inversión debidos a los altos costos de implementación y disminuir riesgos asociados a tecnologías definidas. Este informe presenta de manera resumida los resultados de la consultoría, abarcando la descripción de los límites del MSM, el potencial de reducción para los sectores preseleccionados, y el diseño detallado del MSM que incluye la definición de los tipos de tecnología elegibles, criterios de eligibilidad, viabilidad técnica y financiera, enfoques para la determinación de línea base, sistema de medición, reporte y verificación (MRV) y definición del incentivo e identificación de necesidades de asistencia técnica.
