Wettbewerbsprobleme im Internet

Abstract

Durch die Digitalisierung sämtlicher wirtschaftlicher und gesellschaftlicher Bereiche wird zum einen eine Vielzahl traditioneller Angebote um eine Online-Komponente erweitert, zum anderen entstehen aber auch gänzlich neue Geschäftsmodelle und -felder. Für die Wettbewerbspolitik bringt dieser Wandel neue Fragestellungen und Herausforderungen mit sich. Klassische Ansätze der Marktabgrenzung stoßen bei einem immer und überall verfügbaren Internethandel mit transparenten Märkten und neuen Transaktionskostenbeziehungen an ihre Grenzen. Vor diesem Hintergrund diskutierte die Arbeitsgruppe Wettbewerb des Wirtschaftspolitischen Ausschusses im Verein für Socialpolitik im Rahmen ihrer Jahrestagung 2014 über »Wettbewerbsprobleme im Internethandel«. Neben den Besonderheiten des Internethandels und grundsätzlichen Herausforderungen der Internetökonomie wurde dabei u.a. über Selektivvertrieb im Internet und die Konvergenz entlang der Internetwertschöpfungskette diskutiert sowie aus der aktuellen Fallpraxis des Bundeskartellamtes berichtet.
