Wiedervereinigung nach sechs Jahren: Erfolge, Defizite, Zukunftsperspektiven im Transformationsprozeß

Abstract

Nach sechs Jahren Wiedervereinigung ist die Zeit reif, Analysen über Erfolge und Defizite im bisher abgelaufenen Transformationsprozeß der neuen Bundesländer vorzulegen und - noch intensiver als zuvor - über Zukunftsperspektiven nachzudenken. Der vorliegende Sammelband, der sich den relevanten Themen im Detail widmet, ist gleichzeitig Ausweis für die intensive Arbeit, die das ifo Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung in Sachen Wirtschaftsanalyse und -prognose für die neuen Bundesländer geleistet hat. Dies gilt in besonderem Maße auch für die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Niederlassung Dresden, die im September 1993 gegründet wurde, um den Transformationsprozeß analytisch und kritisch zu begleiten und die dazu beigetragen haben, daß die Entwicklung der ifo Niederlassung Dresden als success story bezeichnet werden kann.
