Ziele für die betriebswirtschaftliche Theoriebildung. Ein entscheidungstheoretischer Ansatz

Abstract

Die traditionsreiche Frage, durch welche Eigenschaften eine gute Theorie gekennzeichnet ist, hat vor dem Hintergrund der in den letzten Jahren geführten Diskussion um die Evaluation wissenschaftlicher Leistungen eine neue Aktualität bekommen. In der hier vorliegenden Untersuchung wird diese Frage aus einer entscheidungstheoretischen Perspektive beantwortet, indem die Eigenschaften in eine Mittel/Zweck-Relation zu Zielen für die betriebswirtschaftliche Theoriebildung gesetzt werden. Es wird eine Zielordnung erarbeitet, die vier Ebenen umfasst und gemäß der beiden Hauptanliegen der Betriebswirtschaftslehre - der Verstehensunterstützung und der Entscheidungsunterstützung - in einen verstehensorientierten sowie in einen entscheidungsorientierten Zweig aufgeteilt ist. Die Zielordnung kann von Betriebswirten einerseits dazu verwendet werden, im Prozeß der Theoriebildung zwischen konkurrierenden theoretischen Handlungsalternativen eine rationale Auswahl zu treffen. Sie verbessert darüber hinaus die Voraussetzungen für eine nachvollziehbare Evaluation bereits vorliegender Forschungsleistungen.
