The Recent Financial Crisis: Some reflections on its likely financial and economic effects on Botswana

Abstract

Part 1 explores the factors commonly cited as culprits for the global economic crisis, its effect on global financial and economic performance. Part 1 concludes by highlighting the likely core economic factors that might have contributed to the crisis. Part 2 deals with the likely impact(s) of the crisis on the Botswana economy. It briefly describes the preliminary evidence, then outlines the approaches that have to be followed towards designing and implementing policies that might help mitigate the effects of the crisis.
