Social Challenges of Shadow Economy (Социални предизвикателства на икономиката в сянка) - in Bulgarian

The book “Social Challenges of Shadow Economy” (in Bulgarian) presents the results of a monographic study, done within the framework of the scientific and research programme of the Economic Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The publication is realized with the financial support of the Foundation “Konrad Adenauer”. It treats not enough studied still, but undoubtedly topical issues, connected to the forms of activities of shadow economy, mainly in the spheres with its generated social effects and their negative or conditionally positive impact. Main problems and important factors which cause them are identi¬fied. Directions for future restraint of shadow economy in the analyzed fields are out-lined. The results of an inquiry of the opinion of 45 high level experts from multiple state, business, academic, syndical and non-governmental organizations and institutions, carried out by the authors are of special interest, especially when reliable data lacks. The study is one of the first attempts of systematic investigation of these problems with respective conclusions and suggestions for the socio-economic practice in Bulgaria. The book is addressed to competent state and local authorities, NGOs, researchers, lecturers, students and everyone who is interested in this matter or is in any form or kind an object of the social consequences of the shadow economy.
