Desarrollo infantil temprano en México

Abstract

El desarrollo infantil temprano (DIT) es el proceso de cambios fisiológicos y neurológicos que ocurren entre el periodo intrauterino y los primeros seis años de vida de una persona, los cuales determinan en gran medida el potencial de la persona. Destinar recursos a la primera infancia representa una de las inversiones en capital humano con los mayores retornos para las familias y la sociedad, debido a su impacto sobre las condiciones de salud, desempeño académico, productividad, ingreso y resiliencia. Las políticas de DIT son una herramienta igualadora con el potencial de promover la movilidad social y la igualdad de oportunidades. Sin embargo, presentan una serie de desafíos. Este documento tiene como objeto presentar una propuesta de política pública federal en materia de desarrollo infantil temprano.
