Physical Activities On Physical And Physiological Variables Among School Children With Hearing Impairment

Abstract

Objective: The motive of this study was to investigate the physical activities on physical and physiological variables among school children with hearing impairment. Study design: Experimental research design. Background: The fact-finding on these physical activities on physical and physiological variables of school children with hearing impairment. Method and Measures: Twenty schoolchildren with moderate hearing impairment (41 to 55 degrees) were randomly chosen from a Coimbatore district autism center in Tamil Nadu to participate in this study. They were between the ages of 13 and 17. The experimental group and the control group, each with ten subjects, were divided into two equal groups by random assignment. The control group had no involvement in any extra training outside of their daily tasks, while the experimental group performed different kinds of physical activities for eight weeks. As dependent variables, we chose physiological and physical variables namely VO2 max and shoulder strength. This study used a pre- and post-test random group design. With the goal to assess the means of two groups, the dependent’t’ test was used. To ascertain whether there were any appreciable variations between the experimental and control groups. The confidence level was set at 0.05 to examine the level of significance of the difference between the means. Results: The study’s findings indicate that eight weeks of physical activity had a significant positive impact on schoolchildren’s shoulder strength and VO2 max, and they also revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in these variables. Conclusion: Due to the hearing impairment the school children would not participate any physical activates especially those who are wearing hearing aids. Now the investigator was find out a conclusion, which the hearing impairment children undergone the selected physical activates had improved the shoulder strength and VO2max.
