Abstract

The study was performed at the research field of the Department of Agronomy, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during November, 2020 to February, 2021 to assess the effect of Sulphur and Phosphorus on yield and yield attributes of mustard variety viz. BARI Sharisha-18 (canola type). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The study reported that Sulphur significantly influenced the number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1, 1000 seeds weight, biological yield, harvest index, seed yield, stover yield, and extracted oil. On the other hand, Phosphorus showed significant influence on plant height, number of seeds pod-1, seed yield, and extracted oil. Interestingly, the interaction effect of Sulphur and Phosphorus showed significant effect on every parameter of this study. The individual application of 15 and 35 kg ha-1Sulphur and 35 kg ha-1Phosphorus showed better response on yield and yield attributes of Mustard. The interaction effect of P2×S1 which is 35 kg ha-1Phosphorus and 15 kg ha-1Sulphur reported the highly effective on yield, yield attributes, and financial profitability of Mustard.
