Abstract

Die Anzahl aller Unternehmensgründungen in Deutschland stieg im Jahr 2004 um knapp 10 Prozent auf 270.000. Auch in den wissens- und technologieintensiven Sektoren insgesamt erhöhte sich die Gründungstätigkeit wieder merklich, nach dem im Jahr 2002 Tiefststände markiert wurden. Einzig in der Spitzentechnik folgt das Gründungsgeschehen nur bedingt der allgemeinen Aufwärtstendenz und stagniert auf niedrigem Niveau. Doch gerade in diesem Sektor sind jene Unternehmen vertreten, die einen hohen Anteil ihrer Ausgaben in Forschungs und Entwicklungstätigkeiten fließen lassen und damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Zukunftsfähigkeit der deutschen Volkswirtschaft leisten.
